Ayrshire & Arran

Ayrshire & Arran Health Board is one of the six boards that make up the West of Scotland Rehabilitation Consortium. The Consortium has a key role in planning and developing wheelchair services as provided by WestMARC.

People in Ayrshire & Arran requiring assessment for and provision of wheelchair and seating equipment are assessed by locally trained staff or specialist staff from WestMARC.
Satellite clinics are held locally at:  Douglas Grant Rehabilitation Centre, Ayrshire Central Hospital.

NHS Ayrshire and Arran utilises the existing local Public Partnership forums network in each of our three localities of North, South and East Ayrshire as a mechanism to engage with wheelchair users and carers and in addition to this each of the Forums currently has a core group of Members, some of whom are wheelchair users.

Mechanisms are in place for the Public Partnership Forum (PPF) to circulate information to those users and carers who have registered with us, and also those who have previously indicated an interest in disability matters. A Freephone number is in place to facilitate engagement and this is the point of contact for the network.

Wheelchair users and their carers should telephone freephone 0300 790 0129 to contact their local Public Partnership Forum Coordinator.

The network by its nature does not have regular planned meetings but these can be convened for specific topics/ purposes.
