Ocular Prosthetics

The Orbital Prosthetics Clinic

The Orbital Prosthetics Clinic is based within the Ophthalmology Department on the first floor of Gartnavel General Hospital.

The service provides custom made artificial eyes/cosmetic lens manufacturing, fitting, and after care.

The clinic offers a supportive environment in which specialist skills are used to restore confidence and cosmetic appearance in a person who has suffered the traumatic experience of losing an eye, or suffers from a condition resulting in a shrunken or cosmetically degraded eye.

Patients are referred by their G.P. or Ophthalmologist for the supply of new or replacement artificial eyes/cosmetic lens. This is a regional service covering the West of Scotland.
