What is the HFPC’s role?

There are 5 Band 6 HFPC’s within GGC, who cover all acute sites – 1 Clyde sector (Royal Alexandra, Inverclyde Royal and Vale of Leven hospitals), 2 North sector (Glasgow Royal, Stobhill and Lightburn hospitals) and 2 South Sector(Queen Elisabeth, Victoria and Gartnaval hospitals).  Their role is to:

  • Provide a specialist assessment if your loved one is at risk of falls.
  • Work with ward staff to ensure that patient safety is maintained.
  • Assist with educating staff and patients/families on how falls can be prevented.

If you feel that your loved one would benefit from further assessment please discuss with the staff on the ward who can then make a referral.
