Due to the COVID19 pandemic the CFPP have had to change how we support you to live safely in your own home. At present we have to complete your screening consultation on the telephone instead of a home visit. This is to promote safety by limiting the time visitors are in your home.
At present we are trialling different methods of remotely assessing your falls risk that can be used alongside the telephone consultation. One option is using a system called vCreate.
What is vCreate?
vCreate is an NHS Trusted Secure Video Messaging service that allows sending and receiving of short videos and photos between the CFPP and yourself.
vCreate can allow us to assess areas of difficulty or falls risk within your home environment without having to step inside your house. This allows our staff to identify any trip hazards, give you simple advice to make your home safer and promote your independence. vCreate can allow staff to identify if there is equipment that can reduce your falls risk i.e. assisting you to rise from your toilet/ chair, bathe easier or negotiate steps/ stairs. By completing the assessment remotely using vCreate the only access required to your home will be to deliver any required equipment.
How does vCreate work?
You will receive an initial telephone consultation with a member of the CFPP team who will ask if you would consent to using the vCreate link. We will fully explain to you what we are asking for and how we plan to use the information you share with us. If you are happy to proceed we will send you an email/ text message (if you have an android phone that can take videos/ photos) inviting you to register for your own secure vCreate account at www.vcreate.tv/unit/403
Once you’ve registered your digital consent, a member of staff will activate your account. This will allow you to send your videos / photos so that we can review and make recommendations to reduce falls risk. You’ll be alerted by email and/or text message when you receive any correspondence from the CFPP on your vCreate account. To access simply click the vCreate login button within the email/text message and enter your email address and password created when you registered.
You can login to vCreate on any device, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
After you use the service you will be sent a link to fill in a short survey so that we can gather your thoughts on using this system. The link is included below as well as a patient information leaflet that explains about vCreate in more detail:
