CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

*UPDATED* Hospital visiting changes, home testing kits, Vaccine info, general info and guidance for public, NHSGGC staff, and community-based services.

What is NHS Near Me?

NHS Near Me is a new video consulting service which aims to provide outpatient consultations as close as possible to home.  Video consultations through Near Me can be used to reduce exposure to coronavirus by enabling both patients and clinicians to consult while in isolation.

Benefits of NHS Near Me include:

  • reduced travel;
  • reduced time away from home/work/school;
  • making it easier to have someone with you for support at your appointment who would not necessarily have been able to travel.

NHS Near Me uses the secure video consulting system Attend Anywhere, which has been approved as private and confidential by NHS Scotland. Near Me calls are not recorded and are not permitted to be recorded.

The Community Falls Prevention Programme and the Osteoporosis service are now offering NHS Near Me appointments to those who are referred to the service.
