Once you have attended your Orthopaedic Out-Patient Appointment, you may have had a discussion with your clinician with regard to being added to the Orthopaedic Inpatient Waiting List for surgery. If you are in agreement, you will be added to the Orthopaedic Inpatient Waiting List.
You will receive a letter informing you that you have been added to the waiting list, along with a Patient’s Right Act leaflet. This leaflet explains your Treatment Time Guarantee [TTG].
The Orthopaedic Department is currently experiencing pressures with our inpatient waiting list and we are not able to meet the 12 week guarantee target for some patients.

We will offer all patients two reasonable offers of an appointment. If you do not accept either of these offers we may remove you from our waiting list and return you back to the care of your GP.
A reasonable offer includes an offer, either written or verbal, of treatment in any NHS Greater Glasgow or Clyde (NHSGGC) hospital. We will give you a minimum of 7 days notice of this appointment.
A reasonable offer will also include an offer of treatment at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital.
Patient Advice and Support Service (PASS)
NHSGGC has in place arrangements with Citizens Advice and Support Service (PASS) for all NHS users. The service is free, confidential, independent of NHSGGC, and fully impartial.
