We need your help! We want to know how you would like your antenatal education classes delivered in the future - please complete our Survey Monkey survey so we can start brainstorming! Any suggestions or recommendations you have on antenatal education classes would be greatly appreciated. Re-posted 07/10/21.

We have now created a live online class for women who are planning to have a caesarean section - Caesarean Section Preparation Class. This class is currently being piloted at the Princess Royal Maternity Hospital every Thursday morning at 11:00 via Microsoft Teams. COVID-19 Service Update

During the current Covid-19 pandemic the Government and NHS GG&C have introduced policies to keep both you and NHS staff safe to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

Our Obstetrics Physiotherapy service is therefore gradually re-opening some of our departments for a limited number of physical face-to-face appointments where it is possible & safe to do so.  However in the majority of  cases your course of treatment can be successfully & safely managed remotely using telephone or video consultations.

All initial appointments for assessment will be by telephone (unless a specific need is identified).

Appointments may last up to 45minutes as we will ask you questions about your condition & health. Everything you tell us is confidential. It is therefore important that you are able to take the call in a quiet / private area.

After your assessment, we will discuss your condition, agree goals and a treatment plan with you. Treatment is likely to include an exercise programme specific to your needs & how you can manage your condition yourself. You are free to withdraw your consent at any time.

If the physiotherapist recommends a physical face-to-face appointment they will discuss this with you, explain the benefits, risks and current health & safety measures in place to help you make an informed decision about whether you wish to attend a department.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s Did Not Attend and Cancellation Policy

If you fail to answer a telephone or video appointment or fail to attend any face-to-face appointment and do not contact us within 24 hours we will discharge you.

If you cancel an appointment on more than 2 occasions we will discharge you.

To cancel or change your appointment please contact your Obstetrics Physiotherapy Department with as much notice as possible.
