From April 2018, the Carers (Scotland) Act commenced.
The overall aim of the Act is for carers to be supported to continue to care, for as long as they choose, in better health and to have a life alongside caring.
Health boards now have a duty to involve carers, including young carers, in discussions and decisions about the person they care for before they are discharged from hospital.
This section provides key information for all NHSGGC staff so they know what is required, from them, to meet the requirements of the Act. This will help our staff to Identify, Involve and Support Carers.
