Effective from 1 November 2020 your dental practice will be able to provide the normal range of NHS dental treatments.
You must however understand that this will not mean business as usual. We are still in the midst of a pandemic and the main priority for your dental team will continue to be the safety of you as their patient and their staff.
Your practice may look quite different from the last time you attended and there will be strict processes you have to follow when attending an appointment.
You should also be aware that due to the public health measures that need to be in place the number of available appointments will be significantly reduced.
Over the next few weeks, your dentist will need to prioritise those patients that need access to dental services more quickly and this may mean unfortunately a further wait for some patients until more “routine” appointments can be offered. This will probably result in routine check ups being some way off for some practices.
We would ask for your patience; the restart of these services will take time, there is a huge backlog of patients to be seen and dental teams are doing everything they can to provide you with the best level of dental service in the safest way possible.
Over the coming weeks Scottish Government will also be undertaking a communications programme out to all households
