Covid-19 (Coronavirus)

Information and guidance for public, NHSGGC staff, and community-based services.  Hospital visiting restrictions now in place.

Protection from Abuse

NHSGGC is committed to doing all it can to support and protect survivors of domestic abuse and other forms of gender-based violence while COVID-19 protection measures are in place.

There is strong global and national evidence that domestic abuse and other forms of gender-based violence and control increase during pandemics. Whilst research tells us domestic abuse affects women more often and more severely than men, please be vigilant to the needs of all clients at this time.

Contact with a health worker may be the one chance for someone to get help and protection and even save their life.

The resources and information on this page will help survivors and staff to access the support they need.

Most Violence Against Women Services continue to operate during COVID-19 albeit with reduced or modified service.
