What are you recruiting for?

We are recruiting for two Modern Apprentice Mechanical Fitters (Craftsperson) to join our Estates and Facilities teams.

Our Team provide a range of maintenance, repair and minor installations of mechanical services (steam, heating, ventilation and associated plant, medical gases) to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Campus and Inverclyde Hospital in Greenock.

Our buildings can date from the Victorian era up to new hospital builds.

What does the Estates Team do? 

The Estates teams within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde are responsible for the provision of a safe comfortable & statutory compliant environment for our staff, patients and visitors.

The Estates Department ensures the effective provision of state of the art clinical care for our patients which is achieved by maintaining and delivering an effective Planned Preventive Maintenance programme and reactive repair service as well as executing installation and commissioning works of critical plant and equipment to support the delivery of all clinical services. 

 The estates department provides an integral contribution to the continual management & control of Health Associated Infection with respect to the built environment, in compliance with national Health Environment Inspectorate (HEI) & Healthcare Associated Infections Teams and Domestic Monitoring Tools (DMT).
