The parental leave policy enables employees with children, who meet the qualifying criteria, to be able to balance their work and family commitments and spend quality time with their children.
Eligible employees will be entitled to a maximum of 18 weeks parental leave per child (4 of which will be paid), and can apply to take this leave any time from the date of the child’s birth until their 18th birthday (this is a recent employment legislation change and supersedes the information currently in the policy which states leave can be taken up to their 14th birthday). Parental leave must be taken in the period up to the child’s 14th birthday. The unpaid element can be taken up to their 18th birthday.
Employees who wish to apply for this leave should complete the parental leave application form and submit to their manager, along with the appropriate evidence, for approval.
