Q6.1 What Happens If My Baby Is Born Early?

A6.1 If your baby is born prematurely or before the notified expected week of confinement all entitlements for maternity leave and pay are the same as if your baby were born full term. If your baby is born before the 11th week of EDC and you have worked during that week, your maternity leave will start on your 1st day of absence. If you have been off on certified sick, your maternity leave will commence the day after the birth.
