Have Effective Leadership

This element of the Framework focuses on the following:

  • The team leader is recognised and respected by team members
  • Different types of leadership role are recognised by the team, sometimes from different people, dependent on the task or activity to be delivered
  • Different styles of leadership are recognised as useful dependent on the task or situation
  • Team leaders recognise the style of leadership approproiate to the team and the current situation and are able to change this as needed
  • The team leader sets clear and appropriate expectations of the team and individual members
  • The team leader recognises work well done by both the team and individuals
  • The team leader balances activity across all team members and their strengths
  • The team leader gives the right level of freedom and empowerment to allow team members deliver their best work but will establish clear boundaries and constraints
