Parking at Glasgow Royal Infirmary

*Charges updated 1st September 2019*

Glasgow Royal Infirmary only has one car park available for visitors and patients to the hospital; it is the 700+ space multi-storey car park situated next to the Accident and Emergency department.

Glasgow Royal Infirmary car park postcode is G31 2ER

Access to the Hospital from the multi-storey car park can be made through the Jubilee Entrance, this will give you access to all departments throughout the hospital, including the Princess Royal Maternity.

Charges for parking in the car park are as follows (seven days/week):

  • 8am to 6pm - £1.80 per hour
  • 6pm to 8am - £1.60 per hour, up to a maximum of £3.20 in total for any length of stay during night time period.
  • 5 Exits Ticket (over 14 days)  £43.00

There are also monthly parking permits available for £108.00 per month payable by direct debit. For more information please cal 0141 552 2009.

There are disabled parking spaces in the car park, located for maximum convenience, but they must be paid for at the same rates.  These disabled spaces are adjacent to the passenger lifts.

If you have any queries about parking at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, please contact the car park management team from Apcoa Parking on 0141 552 2009; they will do their best to help you.

In addition to the disabled parking within the multi-storey car park, there are a limited number of disabled parking bays around the hospital site.

At the main entrance to the old hospital car park on Castle Street there are five clearly marked disabled parking spaces, the remainder of the parking spaces in this area are for hospital staff only.

At the Queen Elizabeth Building the spaces on the right-hand side of the building are reserved for disabled parking only. All of the parking spaces to the left of the building are for Ambulances and for the Scottish Ambulance Transport service only, and must be kept clear.

Car park attendants are responsible for making sure that none of the hospital’s through roads and departmental entrances become inaccessible or blocked due to incorrect or careless parking.  This is really important, because disrupting emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire engines could prove disastrous.  This is one reason why the car park attendants are obliged to issue £40 Parking Enforcement Notices (parking tickets) if they find vehicles parked in contravention of the regulations.

Always allow a little extra time for parking whenever you visit any hospital - parking hold-ups can be very stressful when you have a hospital appointment.
