Welcome to ‘Vale News’ - dedicated to news about the Hospital and supporting services.
The Vale of Leven Hospital has a long term future and will continue to play an important part in the delivery of healthcare in Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
We have created this section to keep our residents in West Dunbartonshire up-to-date with what is happening in the area. The Vale of Leven is a vibrant hospital, providing a wide range of services and we also know it has a very special place in the hearts of local people.
We continue to have a very positive relationship with Hospitalwatch and our Chief Operating Officer for Acute Services, Jonathan Best, our Clyde Director Marie Farrell and Margaret O'Rourke, our Clinical Services Manager and Lead Nurse have been meeting regularly with Jim Moohan and fellow representatives of the Hospitalwatch to ensure that regular dialogue in maintained. Like Hospitalwatch, we value this regular opportunity to link in with this local group.
Our 'Vale News' aims to reflect the local issues, developments around services and news around our valued staff and will be shared via our own channels and in conjunction with Hospitalwatch, West Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership and West Dunbartonshire Council.
There is so much to celebrate about the Vale of Leven. At a recent Board meeting, our Chairman, Professor John Brown singled out Vale of Leven hospital staff for praise.
Professor Brown said: “The Vale of Leven Hospital plays a very important role in delivering excellent healthcare across West Dunbartonshire and it’s clear that staff take real pride in working there. As a Board, we value our staff and I want to commend them, and the management team, for their commitment to treating our patients in a clean and welcoming environment.
