Minor Injuries Unit - Adults

For minor injuries such as cuts that need stitches, broken bones, sprains and minor burns, go to one of our Minor Injury Units (MIU). You are likely to get the fastest treatment for these injuries here. You will not have to wait for people with serious injuries and conditions to be treated first.

Adult MIUs are for people 16 years of age and older.  For MIUs for children aged 15 or under, please see our Children and Babies MIU page.

We have three dedicated MIUs in NHSGGC

  • New Stobhill Hospital - 9 am to 9 pm every day of the year
  • New Victoria Hospital - 9 am to 9 pm every day of the year
  • Vale of Leven Hospital - 8 am to 9 pm every day of the year
  • Find your MIU

At other times times you should go to your local Emergency Department.
Each of our five Emergency Departments will treat minor injuries, but you will wait longer because people with more serious injuries and conditions will be treated first.

For stomach upsets, coughs or a high temperature then self-care, pharmacy or your GP is the answer. You should not go to an MIU for treatment. An MIU does not deal with illnesses. Get the right care for you, in the right place.
