Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Scan, A & E - Spent 24 hrs in general surgery after A&E admission with CAT scan on a Sunday am. I was really impressed with the swift, competent and kind care received from porters to consultant alike. This was a busy Saturday night. The staff in both units were brilliant. We were so impressed. We have both worked for the NHS and have been saddened by the bad press that it has been receiving. So I'm really grateful to be able to say thank you and well done.

Gartnavel General, Rheumatology - Reviewed quickly and subsequent investigation within weeks. Staff very helpful.

South Glasgow University Hospital, Scan - First visit to the new hospital. Very impressed with everything, from ease of access, parking, signage, reception, staff and treatment. Well done

Royal Alexandra Hospital, CMU - Hi, I wanted to take the time to express my sincere thanks to the CMU team that assisted in the delivery of my little boy. I had the pleasure of meeting with the night shift team on Friday 15th May 2015. The ladies I would like to personally thank are midwives Diane, Caroline and Sharleen. From the moment I was taken into the CMU department Diane and Sharleen made me feel instantly welcome and at ease or as at ease as the contractions allowed. The professionalism and bedside manner displayed by both made the experience much more relaxed than my anxiety had allowed it to be Diane and Sharleen ensured I was comfortable and fully informed about the commencing stages of my labour. Had I not known purely from the difference in uniform that Sharleen was a trainee I would have guessed she had been in post a while. Sharleen followed every request and process as if she had been doing it for years. Again the caring side displayed by Sharleen shows she has found her calling. The words I have written seem so little considering the time and care Diane and Sharleen gave me, my husband and our new little boy. I would be grateful if this positive feedback can be passed on. Thank you again for a wonderful experience and again the care you had shown me.

Gartnavel General, Day Surgery - Sir, I was a patient in the day surgery in Gartnavel hospital today. I know sometimes the NHS get poor press, and gets taken for granted. However I am writing to you to pass on my thanks to the staff that treated me today. From the receptionist, nurses, student nurses, anaesthetist, surgeon etc the treatment was first class, and I would be obliged if you could pass it onto the staff. Many thanks.

New Victoria Hospital - Today attended for Hearing Aid at New Victoria and the practitioner dealing with me was terrific, kind and helpful. Her name was Katrina (think spelt correctly) Please pass on my thanks and praise. Also had to get taxi at around 5pm and was helped by lovely receptionist in Minor Ailments.

Western Infirmary, A & E - I was impressed at the speed and efficiency with which staff in A&E saw, assessed and diagnosed me - for which I would like to offer my praise and thanks for their service. At the same time I would like to acknowledge the gentleness and caring that I saw displayed to other patients around me. This compares very well with my local A&E (which I had attended for an unrelated injury in the previous month). With thanks

South Glasgow University Hospital, Urology - I would just like to thank the entire staff and in particular staff nurse McMurray who had to tolerate a very difficult patient for two days which probably seemed an eternity to her. Her care and understanding is incredible what she has to do. Please ensure that the contents of this message are conveyed to her and all of the staff on ward eleven d as I do not envy their jobs. This was very much appreciated.

Princess Royal Maternity - I cannot thank the staff of the PRM enough. They have looked after me through two early miscarriages and the subsequent births of my two children. They were caring, supportive and professional throughout. I had complications following the birth of my second child which resulted in the need for a blood transfusion and three weeks later an ERPC. The staff took time to discuss what had happened and let me air any concerns I might have had, but there was no need. I was always in safe and competent hands and can only offer my heartfelt thanks to all the staff at the PRM!

Princess Royal Maternity, Catering - My husband and I are huge fans of your aroma coffee shop and always made time for a coffee when at the PRM. Not only was the coffee one of the best we've tasted but a fantastic price. The icing on the cake was hearing that the profits were invested in the NHS. A brilliant idea!

New Victoria Hospital, X – Ray - I attended your walk-in x-ray service today and I'd like to take the opportunity to compliment your x-ray team on the efficiency and speed with which my x-ray was carried out. I would estimate that the time from exiting my car to start walking out of the underground car park, to the time I walked out of x-ray again, couldn't have been greater than 18 mins. This is all the more remarkable considering that this is a walk-in service where I was attending without an appointment. If you consider that it must have taken me at least 5 minutes to walk into the hospital and find the department that really is good going. One hears all too often of people complaining about the NHS. I want to make sure that you get some very positive feedback on how well this particular service is working. I hope my wee note puts a little spring in a staff member's step or a smile on someone's face. Thank you very much.

Royal Alexandra Hospital, Dermatology - Today I visited Dermatology outpatient clinic at RAH with my Mum who -wonderfully! Is in her 90th year. This was her first hospital outpatient appointment. The department is bright and clean, receptionist was welcoming and friendly taking time to check all details and update any changes. My Mum was taken early and the clinician who met her was warm and welcoming and had checked her referral before meeting my Mum and this informed the approach she used - focusing on my Mum's strengths and health and abilities given her age. She sought consent for me to be present, treated my Mum professionally yet with real care and empathy. Another Consultant was also involved and she took time to introduce herself, explain to my Mum why she was there and what she was doing. Each doctor explained the next steps to my Mum carefully and checked that she was clear and asked if she had any other questions before passing her care over to the nurse specialist for treatment and planning return appointment- again the nurse was warm , caring and quickly planned the next appointment with my Mum but involving me. My Mum felt the whole experience was a positive as it could have been, she really appreciated the caring approach of each member of staff. Truly person centred care. As I am not able to identify people in this summary, I do hope that this information is shared with the dept and team concerned. Please pass on our thanks.

Glasgow Homoeopathic Hospital - I would just like to say what an amazing service. I have been using the homeopathic hospital as I have complex problems and have never been treated with do much respect as I am here. The staffs are lovely and so professional. If it wasn't for this place I would have no quality of life. Thanks;

Southern General Hospital - I gave birth to my son on 17/04/15 by caesarean section in the theatres in the Maternity Unit at the Southern General hospital and then spent 4 days in Ward 50. The care we received there was amazing. Having given birth in another hospital where the whole experience felt like being processed in a factory the care we received from the Southern general team could not have been more different - at every stage the care was people centred, thoughtful, kind and highly competent. What really struck us was that every one we dealt with congratulated us on the birth of our lovely baby. I had some issues relating to the care we had received during labour and recovery in my first pregnancy that made me a less than easy patient to deal with this time round but at no stage was I made to feel like my concerns were anything less than valid and although the ward was visibly busy the midwives made me feel as though they had all the time in the world to help me and my husband. I'd like to thank the teams who cared for me for giving us a happy, calm start to our little boy's life, they made a huge difference to our family and I can't thank them enough. Our surgeon that morning was Mr Bjornsen, we were in ward 48 before surgery and returned to ward 50 for the rest of our stay. Thanks again.

Royal Alexandra Hospital, A & E - I just wanted to send positive feedback regarding a recent visit to A&E department, I attended with my son whom is physically disabled and moderate learning difficulties. From the moment that we arrived the receptionist noted how poorly my son was and made the assessment not to place us in the waiting room, from the moment we arrived to leaving to be transferred to SGH, I can do nothing but praise the staff that was involved in my sons care. At every stage as a parent I was advised of what was happening despite this being a critical time, my son was advised of every procedure being carried out and at no time treated differently due to his disabilities There are no words really to express the thanks and gratefulness to the staff involved in his care, especially to one of the medical team whom went the extra mile Many thanks to all staff involved, it's such a shame that the media only want to focus on those grumbling about an overstretched service, though praise to NHS staff sadly doesn't sell stories Once again many thanks to all involved.

Dental Hospital, Reception, Staff, Treatment, and Waiting Times - I had to go to the dental hospital at 9pm after being referred by NHS24. The staff and dentist were absolutely first class. I have not been near a dentist for over 30 years due to fear but they all made me feel at ease and after an extraction I wondered what all the fuss was about.

Southern General Hospital, Dermatology - Today I called the Dermatology Department to discuss a diagnosis which was causing me some concern. I spoke to a senior member of staff. (I realise I am unable to identify this person as per the instructions). However, I wish to express my full gratitude to this staff member who allowed me to attend a clinic at very short notice (that very day). I was seen by someone who displayed tremendous professionalism, empathy and understanding and someone who truly exhibits the very best of our NHS. A real credit to the hospital and a true ambassador for the NHS in Scotland. It’s just a pity I'm barred from placing a name to this comment.

Victoria Infirmary, Respiratory - Staff, from consultant, junior doctors, to all members of the team on Ward 10 including student doctors could not have been more helpful and supportive. Nursing staff were particularly good, carrying out their tasks with humour and consideration no matter how menial. I hope they can transfer this quality of service to the new surroundings. Western Infirmary, Respiratory - Seen within 5 minutes of my designated appointment time, by a really enthusiastic and helpful member of nursing staff. Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Stroke - I have just sent 2 months in ward k south (stoke unit) attire and have nothing but praise for the staff and for the care I received.

Southern General Hospital, Treatment Room Nursing - I would just like to say thank you to the nurses, midwives, supporting staff and doctor on the Maternity Assessment Unit yesterday. They were great and helped my wife get through her severe morning sickness. Their standard of care was excellent and I was impressed with their bedside manner. I think they are an asset to the NHS.

Southern General Hospital, Neurosciences - Recently my daughter was admitted to ward 68 for neurological tests. From the minute we walked into the ward she was met with friendly warm, professional, confident members of staff. They were happy to discuss what was happening, explained in detail the procedures, were attentive but more importantly were never without a smile which is a great help when all concerned with my daughter were so worried and stressed. I am absolutely indebted to all the staff, Alison and Jennifer the physiologists, all the nurses especially Tam, Professor Leitch, Dr Abassy, Margaret the cleaner absolutely everyone, a massive thank you.

Southern General Hospital, Stroke - I was in ward 56 the staff are superb, cheery, and respectful and caring, from the care assistants to the nurses and doctors could not praise their professionalism enough or their dedication to deliver a quality service.

Vale of Leven District General Hospital, General Surgery - Hi, I have written with praise when in on January and I have just been in again on 5th May. I was in ward 6 and would once again like to thank every member of staff who dealt with me. Frome the lady at reception to the girls in the ward serving dinner, every single member of staff were fantastic. I feel Mr Nunn is a great surgeon and he puts everyone at ease around him and this gives a great atmosphere. Best regards to everyone.

Lightburn Hospital - My Mum was admitted to Lightburn Hospital at beginning of February, I cannot praise the staff at Lightburn highly enough they did everything to get my Mum better and the level of care was exceptional. Sadly my Mum passed away in April, but the staff at Lightburn deserve great credit for the treatment and care my Mum received and we as a family found great comfort and think too many times we concentrate on the negatives of our hospitals and not the positives.

Glasgow Royal Infirmary, General Surgery - I received excellent treatment and care provided by orthopaedic surgeon and care staff of ward 62 during my recent stay for a total knee replacement. Many thanks to all and best wishes for the future.

Glasgow South, Speech and Language - My son was recently assessed by your speech and language team in Castlemilk Health Centre. We received a very helpful and supportive service from your staff, who managed to put my son at ease whilst answering my questions. An excellent service from 2 lovely staff.

Royal Alexandra Hospital, A & E - I attended A&E with my daughter. I would just like to say how wonderful the staff were, the department was so busy yet the staff were efficient, polite and professional. The nurse Diana was so kind and reassuring and she is an asset to the department. Excellent service despite being so busy and pressured. 10/10
