The community out-patient teams provide assessments and treatment plans for children and their families. Advice and consultation is offered to services within health and to other professional agencies working with children and their families. The child Community Teams work with children up to the age of 12 with a wide range of complex emotional and behavioural problems. The Adolescent Community Teams work with young people age between 12 and 18 years who are in need of professional assistance due to a mental health problem.
Children & young people, and their families can be referred by a range of health professionals, Social Workers, Educational Psychologists and School Nurses.

Psychosocial mental health risk assessment and therapeutic intervention is provided to young people who have deliberately self harmed, and their families. The service works with young people aged 12-17 years admitted to District General Hospitals following an act of deliberate self harm or presenting at A&E Department.
Referrals are accepted from A&E Departments, District General Hospitals and Community Mental Health Teams
