Opening hours:

Visiting times

We understand the importance of encouraging and supporting people to stay connected to the people that matter most in their lives whilst they are in hospital.

In line with this Person Centred Visiting has been introduced in this ward. This means:

  • We have no set visiting times
  • Please discuss with the person you are visiting and staff when it would be good for you to be here
  • We will always welcome and encourage your involvement and support
  • Sometimes we may need to ask you to leave the ward temporarily, to ensure privacy, safety, space and rest for patients
  • If you have any questions please just ask.

More Information
At Blythswood House a team of specialists is on hand to work with patients with learning difficulties who experience mental health problems. The wider community also plays an important part in their recovery. There is a multi-disciplinary team here, including psychiatrists, a GP, speech and language therapist, occupational therapists and psychologists. People can have a holistic assessment of their needs and we all work together with the patient. People are out and about, accessing local facilities, and we encourage them to keep up things like college or going to a day centre if that’s what is appropriate for them. Blythswood House has space for 11 in-patients, who each have their own large en-suite room. There is also a mini-gym, a pool table, TV rooms, kitchen and an outdoor garden with seating.
