Visiting times
We understand the importance of encouraging and supporting people to stay connected to the people that matter most in their lives whilst they are in hospital.
In line with this Person Centred Visiting has been introduced in this ward. This means:
Mealtimes
Approximate mealtimes are
7.30 – 8.30am for breakfast
12.00 – 1.00pm for lunch
5.00 – 6.00pm for the evening meal
Family, friends and carers can play an important role in encouraging patients with small appetites to eat a little bit more. It is important that you discuss with staff if you can help with mealtimes on wards.
At Blythswood House a team of specialists is on hand to work with patients with learning difficulties who experience mental health problems. The wider community also plays an important part in their recovery. There is a multi-disciplinary team here, including psychiatrists, a GP, speech and language therapist, occupational therapists and psychologists. People can have a holistic assessment of their needs and we all work together with the patient. People are out and about, accessing local facilities, and we encourage them to keep up things like college or going to a day centre if that’s what is appropriate for them. Blythswood House has space for 11 in-patients, who each have their own large en-suite room. There is also a mini-gym, a pool table, TV rooms, kitchen and an outdoor garden with seating.
