How to access your GP Out of Hours Service during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak

Due to the current risks posed by COVID-19, unless there is an immediate need for care, your GP Out of Hours service will NOT see you if you turn up unexpectedly.

If you feel unwell outwith normal surgery hours, call NHS 24 on 111You will be given advice depending on your symptoms. This could include:

  • How to manage symptoms at home
  • Advice on visiting your local pharmacy
  • You may need to see an on-call doctor or other health professional. If you need to see a doctor immediately NHS 24 will arrange this for you.

  • Anyone needing sexual health services can ring for an appointment to 0141 211 8130 - between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm Monday - Friday.
  • Outside these times please call NHS 24 on 111 for urgent care.

Everyone who calls will speak to a qualified sexual health nurse who will ascertain what service is required. Anyone requiring urgent care will be seen the same day or next day and patients with non-urgent conditions will be booked an appointment in a scheduled service. 

You may continue to walk in without an appointment and will still be able to speak to an experienced sexual health nurse and offered an appointment with the appropriate service. However, we urge everyone who can to use the telephone number.

Young People’s dedicated clinic times in the afternoon - young people under 17 years of age can still drop in without an appointment

SPHERE Bladder and Bowel service Tel: 01475 701058
The SPHERE Bladder and Bowel Service provides a professional, caring, confidential and supportive approach to people with bladder or/and bowel symptoms. The aim of the team is to promote continence by empowering the individual to self manage their symptoms by teaching behavioural and lifestyle changes that can promote bladder and bowel health. To support the individual, the service has two specially trained teams across the city. These teams include specialist nurses and physiotherapists who can advise and support the individual on improving their bladder or/and bowel symptoms or prevent any deterioration by facilitating and providing rehabilitative treatments.
