Stakeholder Reference Group

A Stakeholder Reference Group has been set up to help shape how best we inform and engage with women who may be affected by the proposal to transfer birthing services from Inverclyde Community Maternity Unit.

The membership of the group includes current and recent service users of the Community Maternity Unit, representatives from Your Voice Inverclyde and NHS GGC Staff.

Our first meeting was held on Thursday 29th September 2016 and we discussed what engagement activities we should undertake to enable people to have their say. The Stakeholder Reference Group agreed to the following activities:

  • Drop in sessions at Inverclyde Community Unit to give mums to be and their partners/family members the opportunity to hear more about the proposal and give their views - 4 sessions were held week beginning 24th October 2016
  • Visits to mother and baby/toddler groups, mum to be pregnancy support groups, parenting classes to meet with women who have used maternity services
  • Public Event on Tuesday 8th November 2016
