A public event was held on Tuesday 8 November 2016 in the Staff Dining Area at the Inverclyde Royal Hospital and people were encouraged to drop in any time between 4pm and 7pm. The purpose of the event was to inform people about what we are proposing and why and give them an opportunity to tell us what they think and ask questions.
During the event, three talks were delivered by Dr Margaret McGuire, Nurse Director who presented information on what we are proposing to change and why. Each talk was followed by a question and answer session. Participants were also asked to consider if there are any other options. A copy of the presentation can be found here.
There was also an area for poster presentations for participants to view and staff who run the service at the Inverclyde Community Maternity Unit were on hand to talk through the information and answer any questions. Participants were also encouraged to give their views about the proposal using the graffiti wall provided. The poster presentations that were on display included:
Following the event Dr Margaret McGuire commented: "The evening was very productive. It allowed us to hear views about the proposed changes which we need to consider and report back to the board. It also enabled us to make sure local people fully understand what we are proposing."
