Quality Management of the Practice Learning Environment (QMPLE)

QMPLE is an online database that has been developed by NHS Education for Scotland (NES) in partnership with colleagues from both practice and universities.  It manages information relating to the quality of the practice learning experience through student feedback, educational audits, Quality Standards for Practice Learning audits (QSPL) and mentorship data.

It will allow stakeholders responsible for the quality of nursing and midwifery practice learning to access and share data and reports used for evaluating and monitoring the quality of the practice learning experience (PLE) of student nurses and midwives in Scotland.

Quality Standards for Practice learning

The QSPL has replaced the previous Quality Standards for Practice Placement. These new standards have been created so that learners and those individuals and organisations who support them understand their responsibilities and expectations in relation to practice learning. The QSPL support existing professional regulatory standards and form part of the audit process that learning environments undertake with Higher Educational Institutions and the Practice education facilitator team.
