Studio- and location-based clinical photography

Requests can be made to our service for clinical photography within each of the nine main sites of NHSGGC. Clinical photographs are a good way of providing a permanent and accurate recording of a patient’s condition. Healthcare professionals will use them to monitor conditions and the progress of treatment, help make diagnosis or seek further specialist opinion, and help plan your treatment or in some cases operations. All patients can be seen by a photographer within our fully equipped clinical photographic studios or on location with wards and clinic areas.

Fully trained and accredited professional clinical photographers

Photographs are taken by fully qualified professional clinical photographers employed by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. We also believe it essential to have our photographers registered with the Academy of Healthcare Scientists (AHCS) for professional accreditation and regulation. Patients can be sure to be treated with the upmost respect and care while attending their appointment.

Full range of diagnostic equipment

Our photographers are trained to use a broad range of camera equipment to make sure we can provide accurate and diagnostic image to our healthcare colleagues. This can range in specialities from using Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) for ophthalmic patients to using polarised lighting techniques in dermoscopic captures for skin specialists. Please contact us if you wish to discuss your needs as we may already have the equipment and knowledge available.

Non-clinical and PR photography

Our team are also accomplished in capturing non-clinical moments within the healthcare section. This can range from staff portraits to coverage of high profile events and visits. Our work has won several professional awards and has been published within various media and news outlets.
