Diabetes MCN

Welcome to the NHS Glasgow and Clyde Diabetes MCN webpages

A managed clinical network (MCN) for diabetes services in Greater Glasgow and Clyde was established in 2004.

The structure of the MCN includes an MCN Steering Group and a range of Subgroups established to address particular issues. This includes groups to address, for example, Type 1 Diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes and Inpatient Diabetes Care. The main role of the MCN Steering Group is to make strategic recommendations to the Board about the development of diabetes services. Meetings of the MCN Steering Group are held quarterly. An Operational Management Group within the MCN exists to ensure that the decisions reached by the Steering Group will be put into effect.

The Primary Care Lead for the Diabetes MCN is Dr Kashif Ali ([email protected]) and the Secondary Care Lead is Dr James Boyle ([email protected])

The Coordinator for the Diabetes MCN is Gillian Kinstrie.
