Starting Freestyle Libre

If you have received a letter inviting you to attend an education session about Freestyle Libre we ask that you complete the online Freestyle Libre Academy module.

This module should take no longer than 45 minutes to complete and will provide you with helpful background information to maximize the benefits of using this system. Please remember to print off/download a copy of your completion certificate. You can access this module at:

Once you have completed Freestyle Libre Academy please use the link below to attend one of our forthcoming educations sessions on the use of Freestyle Libre at which you will receive a reader and a single sensor. These sessions will take place across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and you are free to attend any available session which is convenient to you. Please note that only people who have been deemed eligible by their clinical team should book into these sessions. Scheduled education sessions are available to book  using the links below. Please note,  you  should only book to attend a session if you have  received a letter from the Diabetes service  inviting you to do so otherwise your booking will be cancelled.

Scheduled Education:

If you have received a letter inviting you to start Freestyle Libre but were unable to attend a previous education session please contact Jillian Blair to ensure that you are given priority at our next session.

Once you have attended the education session and received your reader and first sensor we will contact your GP to advise prescription of further sensors. Please note GPs will not be able to prescribe Freestyle Libre until this letter is received.
