It is always worth checking that your patient can hear you properly, as their hearing may have deteriorated since you last saw them.

It is always worth noting if your patient has vision difficulties.

Similarly, with reading. It is important to ask if they need to have someone help with understanding letters, or medicine labels. If your patient has literacy problems, you might wish to discuss this further within the Health Determinants section, and perhaps get your patient some help and support if they wish.
