Check radial pulse.

Enter BOTH rate and rhythm.

If rate is less than 60 or greater than 100, consider possible causes, and seek medical advice.

If rhythm is irregular, consider Atrial Fibrillation – confirm diagnosis by ECG.

In patients with AF, aim for pulse control below 80 when at rest or 110 on moderate exercise.

If patient has IRREGULAR PULSE and not already diagnosed with AF, then consider referral for further investigation.
