Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit welcomes applications for visiting fellowships in plastic surgery for periods ranging from one to three months.
Visiting clinical fellowships are financed either by the applicant or their home University or Institution.
Applications should include a covering letter, recent curriculum vitae, detailing all experience to date, and indication of the types of surgical procedures which have been previously learnt by the applicant and an indication of what the applicant would expect to learn and experience during their time at Canniesburn.
Two referees, including at least one of the applicant's current or most recent senior clinician, are required to provide confidential references.
General Medical Council Registration
All practising physicians in the United Kingdom are required to be registered by the General Medical Council (GMC).
Applicants who have a medical degree from outside the European Union may be required to pass an exam to determine their level of literacy and medical knowledge (the PLAB) exam before they can perform the duties of a physician or surgeon.
GMC registration is essential if an applicant wishes an honorary contract with the hospital and participate in hands on clinical work.
