Amina became a member of the NHS Board on 1st April 2019
Amina brings to the Board 6 years of experience as a bilingual Interpreter with the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Interpreting Service. Having worked face-to-face with thousands of patients and clinicians, she has extensive ground-level experience of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health and Social Care services, and knowledge of the specific needs and challenges facing minority communities. Amina was also involved in early calls for improvements to be made to the Interpreting Service.
Amina holds a BA (Hons) in English and a MTh (Res.) in Theology and Religious Studies. She has recently been accepted onto a PhD programme at the University of Glasgow, where she will continue pursuing her academic interests.
