Women Undergoing Breast Cancer Treatment Will Have Support from New Breast Nurses

Thursday, November 1, 2018

Six new additional breast service advance nurse practitioners have joined the team at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

The six new nurses will be spread across the city with two covering the south, two covering the north and two in the Clyde area.

The new breast service advance nurse practitioners will provide support to clinical colleagues in delivering effective, efficient services and work to improve the quality of care for cancer patients.

Elaine Burt, Chief Nurse, NHSGGC, said: “We are delighted to welcome the six new breast service advance nurse practitioners who have joined our current workforce. These new nurses will ensure continued support for the high level of quality care already being provided.

“It’s fantastic to have recruited six breast service advance nurse practitioners at the one time. They’ve now completed their induction programme to learn more about the care we provide to women and how we support them in their new roles.

“We are investing in our future by supporting our nursing staff and ensuring we’re always well placed to meet the developments we see in the continual evolution of cancer care.”
