It’s been “lights, camera, action” in West Dunbartonshire lately as the Vale of Leven Hospital and the Vale Centre for Health and Care have been the focus of promotional films to showcase excellent local services and the skills and pride of local staff.
Two public information films have been made to help promote awareness of the scale and quality of local services both in the hospital and in the community.
The films, made by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s communications team, compliment the current campaign by West Dunbartonshire Council to promote the Vale of Leven Hospital and, in particular, the Minor Injuries Unit.
The films capture the pride and dedication of local staff in a really positive way.
The hospital film features Katy McCallion, a charge nurse at the Vale’s Acute Medical Receiving Unit, who said: “It’s a great way of letting people in West Dunbartonshire know what we do here at the Vale. It’s a very special place to work and I think that comes through very successfully.”
The Health and Social Care Partnership film follows the theme - “What did you do today?” and features a number of staff including a social worker, physiotherapist and health visitor.
Marie Farrell, NHSGGC’s director for Clyde acute services, and Beth Culshaw, chief officer for West Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership are very proud of the productions. Both agree they clearly show our staff’s commitment to the services they deliver and their dedication to the patients and the local community.
Marie Farrell said: “It’s important that the local community know how and when to access hospital and health and social care services – and when it’s right to attend your GP, local pharmacy, call NHS Direct, the local Minor Injury Unit or go straight to a hospital with an Emergency Department .
“Our staff have really enjoyed making these films and the pride they have in their work shines through.”
The films will be shown on both NHSGGC and West Dunbartonshire Council social media platforms, as well as some GP surgeries and the Council’s new headquarters in Dumbarton.
