We are now accepting applications for our highly sought after Modern Apprenticeship programme (MA) with 50 places now available.
The programme, delivered in partnership with Glasgow Clyde College, has already recruited more than one hundred young people over a broad range of job roles since it was launched in August 2013.
NHSGGC is looking to recruit trainees aged 16-24, or up to age 29 for those with a disability, across a range of sites and services. There are opportunities in:
The MA programme gives young people access to high quality training and nationally recognised qualifications. Apprenticeships have proven to be an extremely successful tool in attracting, training and retaining new employees across hospital, community and corporate services.
Successful applicants will receive on the job training and work towards qualifications in business and administration, accounting, health and safety, healthcare support, engineering, plumbing, pharmacy services, and procurement.
Vacancies are now open and the health board will be promoting the opportunities at a range of events including Scottish Apprenticeship Week, school events, the Glasgow Guarantee event at Glasgow City Chambers, an open day at Glasgow Clyde College, and information events across NHSGGC sites.
Anne MacPherson, Director of Human Resources & Organisational Development, NHSGGC, said: “I look forward to welcoming a new intake of MAs in the summer. As a board, we recognise the many talents that young people can bring to our workforce and the benefits this has for our organisation.
“Offering young people the opportunity to train in a skill that could shape their future is a role we’re very proud of.
“Our MA programme provides a well respected foothold on the employment ladder and a chance for young people to develop a career with Scotland’s largest health board.
“The feedback from directors and managers since we started offering MAs has been very positive. During that time, the enthusiasm and commitment shown by the young people has been excellent.
“The programme isn’t just focused on healthcare and I’d encourage young people to apply as it is a great way of opening up exciting career opportunities with nationally recognised qualifications.”
