A new MRI scanner is being delivered to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital this weekend, which will mean some disruption to parking arrangements.
Car park 3 – adjacent to the Langlands Building – will be closed from 8pm on Friday until 6pm on Sunday to allow the scanner to be delivered to the ICE building. Access to the car park will be limited to emergency vehicles, essential deliveries and visitors with restricted mobility.
Patients and visitors will still be able to access the Langlands Building and the Spinal Injuries Unit (SIU) via footpaths.
During this time visitors and staff will be directed to one of the hospital’s multi-storey car parks, known as P1 or P2, and there are sufficient car parking spaces within these for those wishing to park over the weekend.
Car park 4, which is for non permit holding staff will also be closed over the weekend for essential upgrading. Staff have been informed of this through hospital communications and are free to use spaces within the multi-storey car parks at this time.
