Patients, families and interested groups are being encouraged to attend an engagement event as part of the process shaping the future of rehabilitation services in North East Glasgow.
The proposal would see the introduction of new models of rehabilitation care for older people. This would lead to the transfer of services from Lightburn Hospital to acute sites at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Stobhill as well as local care homes and community facilities in the east end of Glasgow.
To shape the board’s proposals through the views of patients and the public, the board is running a substantial engagement programme with people across the area until the beginning of December.
Two public engagement events are being held at the Fullarton Park Hotel on Wednesday, 2 November. The first event will run from 2-4pm with the second taking place between 6-8pm. The events are participative so those with a view are being urged to register and attend either of the events.
Catriona Renfrew, director of Planning and Policy, NHSGGC, said: “The engagement process runs until early December open and I would encourage patients, carers and the public to share their views on what the board is proposing.
“These two events are another opportunity to do this. It’s important that anyone planning on attending registers to ensure everyone can get involved. We want to hear your views, so please make sure you book a place to ensure they are heard.”
The engagement process is being shaped by a stakeholder reference group including representatives from north and east Glasgow older peoples’ groups, carers’ associations and patient groups.
The group is overseeing the development of a range of communications resources, delivered with the Health and Social Care Partnership, to help advise on the best means of engaging with those affected and local communities.
To register for either of the events, please call 0300 123 9987 (free phone) or email [email protected].
