The staff and patients at the Inverclyde Community Midwifery Unit have had their own cause for jubilation this weekend as they welcomed three “Jubilee babies” over the momentous royal weekend.
While the rest of the nation celebrated the Queen’s sixty years on the throne, three new mothers welcomed their very own little princesses into the world.
The weekend was a bumper one for the staff at the unit who delivered three baby girls - Madison, Cora and Arron on Friday, Saturday and Monday respectively.
Senior staff midwife Vicki Mazzoni said the weekend had been one of celebration and joy for everyone. She said, “It has been a lovely Jubilee weekend and it is wonderful to think that these mums have that to pass on to their babies and remember. While the rest of the country has been celebrating, we have had our own special celebrations here at the unit”.
Siobhan Byrn gave birth to her second child, baby Madison, on Friday morning after a straightforward labour. She said, “It has been a really lovely weekend overall and it will be nice to tell my daughter about it when she is older”.
Joanne Stewart gave birth to baby Cora, her third child, on Saturday evening. She said “This weekend it was particularly nice as everyone was in high spirits for the Jubilee. Cora was actually due this weekend coming but arrived a few days early, in perfect time for the Jubilee which was a lovely surprise”.
