As the largest single NHS employer in the UK, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde has reaffirmed its commitment to support staff who are part of the reserved forces.

The renewed commitment comes in response to the MOD’s Future Reserves 2020 review which has highlighted that reservists will form a larger proportion of the armed forces as a whole in the future.

NHSGGC Chairman, Mr Andrew Robertson, said: “NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is totally committed to supporting our Army and other Service volunteers and we have put in place firm structures within our organisation to ensure that they are given every assistance for such an enormously important duty.

“We also continue to recognise the value in the training and experience that our reservists bring back into the workplace.”

To mark’s the Health Board’s commitment to reservists a special evening reception was arranged to bring together staff who are supported to carry out their reserved forced duties and other MOD personnel.
