Plans for the new Alexandria Health and Care Centre have taken another major step forward after the Board of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde approved the full business case.
The next and final stage of the process to develop the state-of-the-art health and care centre is to now submit the full business case to the Scottish Government Capital Investment Group for consideration.
Keith Redpath, Director of West Dunbartonshire CHCP, said: "I am delighted that the full business case has been fully endorsed by the NHS Board.
“This significant development which will see an investment of over £20 million on one of the most modern state-of-the-art health centres in Scotland.
“The innovative design of the new centre will support both the current and developing needs and expectations of the local population and has been comprehensively supported in the local community.
“The Project is now on target to commence construction in early 2012 with an estimated completion by May/June 2013.”
