Dr Whiteford is Scotswoman of the Year

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Consultant Geneticist Dr Margo Whiteford is the Evening Times Scotswoman of the Year.

Dr Whiteford, who has spina bifida, is the 47th winner of the award and is based at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children.

Achieving her dream of becoming a doctor, Dr Whiteford has also raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for the Scottish Spina Bifida Association, including £12,000 in sponsorship from taking part in the London Marathon.
