Staff across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde have once again made heroic efforts to beat the severe wintry conditions and keep hospitals fully functioning.
Robert Calderwood, NHSGGC’s Chief Executive, said:
“Our A&E departments are busy and coping with the level of attendances we would expect to see as a result of the current severe winter conditions.
“Staff continue to rise to the occasion with many volunteering to remain in wards and departments overnight and work double shifts.”
All slots for patients requiring dialysis have been met, and even when patients were delayed later than usual they have been kept in overnight thanks to staff staying on to ensure their treatment is completed.
