NHSGGC Introduces Maximum £3.00 Car Parking Charge

February 15, 2008 1:54 PM

The maximum charge of £3.00 for car parking will be introduced to hospital sites currently charging for parking from this Sunday, February 17th.

Patients and visitors parking at Gartnavel, Yorkhill, the Western and the Victoria will now pay a maximum of £3. The majority of patients and visitors parking at our hospitals will be unaffected by the maximum charge and continue to pay the £1 tariff for under two hours.

New signage has been erected and the ticketing machines have been re-programmed for a £3.00 maximum charge.

The policy is already working very well at the four hospital sites but the changes in parking charges will be an added benefit. Our priority has always been to provide safe and well managed car parking for patients, visitors and disabled drivers.

Alex McIntyre, Director of Facilities, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said: “Since the national guidance was issued a number of people have worked extremely hard to ensure the maximum charge of £3 was introduced as quickly as possible.

“That has now been achieved and as from Sunday anyone visiting our hospitals for more than four hours will pay a maximum of £3. "
