McFly Make It a Christmas Special for Young Patients

November 25, 2008 5:15 PM

Superstar boy band McFly brought their own Christmas special to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children at Yorkhill.

They made a surprise appearance at the hospital to the delight of patients and performed the traditional switch-on of the Christmas tree lights before taking the stage at a sell-out concert at the SECC last night.

The band said: “We always love to meet our fans, especially those who can’t make it to our show tonight because they are sick in hospital, so it was great that Yorkhill Children’s Foundation invited us to come up to switch on the Christmas tree lights.

"We wish all the kids in hospital a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”

The hospital’s 20ft Christmas tree was donated by Glasgow City Council .
