Update on Ecoli O157 Outbreak

There have been no new confirmed cases of E coli O157 related to the Paisley outbreak, leaving the number of confirmed connected cases at nine.
A 72 year-old man remains serious but stable at the Victoria Infirmary, an 81 year-old woman is stable at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley and a 70 year-old Paisley woman is stable in hospital in the Republic of Ireland.
A 71 year-old woman has now been discharged home after being treated at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.
The other four individuals affected continue to recover well at home.
The Outbreak Control Team is continuing their detailed investigations into the source of the outbreak of the weekend and a further update will be issued tomorrow afternoon (Sunday 19 August).
