A new adult community mental health team base for Dumbarton and Alexandria has been officially opened by Ms Rani Dhir, Chair, West Dunbartonshire Community Health Partnership (CHP).
Bringing together community mental health services provided by West Dunbartonshire CHP and West Dunbartonshire Council under the one roof, the investment of £750,000 has transformed the former Ailsa Ward at Dumbarton Joint Hospital into a much-improved working environment for patients and staff with modern, purpose-built consulting rooms, therapeutic areas group and meeting rooms.
The money was also used to improve roads within the Dumbarton Hospital site and increase car parking spaces.
It brings together community mental health services provided by West Dunbartonshire CHP and West Dunbartonshire Council under the one roof.
Rani Dhir, Chair of West Dunbartonshire CHP, said: “This is a significant and essential investment not only for local community mental health services, but also for the Dumbarton Joint Hospital site.
“This investment also demonstrates the commitment West Dunbartonshire CHP has to the future of the Dumbarton Joint Hospital as we see the site playing an important role in the delivery of key local health and social work services.”
