Two wards have today re-opened at the Victoria Infirmary, with one remaining closed to new admissions.

One ward at Gartnavel General Hospital and one ward at Drumchapel Hospital are still not admitting new patients due to diarrhoea and vomiting.

Four patients at the Victoria Infirmary and two at Gartnavel are showing symptoms, and there are no new patients showing symptoms at Drumchapel Hospital.

Wards routinely do not admit new patients as a precautionary measure when three or more patients display symptoms of diarrhoea and vomiting.

Dr Syed Ahmed, Consultant in Public Health Medicine, NHS Greater Glasgow, said: "The normal extra infection control precautions have been put in place including limiting staff movement between wards."

"We are continuing to working closely with the Hospitals' Infection Control Teams to monitor the situation."
