Three wards at the Victoria Infirmary, one ward at the Gartnavel General Hospital and one ward at Drumchapel Hospital are not admitting new patients due to diarrhoea and vomiting.One ward at the Victoria Infirmary has re-opened today.

Seven patients at the Victoria Infirmary, two at Gartnavel and one at Drumchapel are currently showing symptoms.

Dr Syed Ahmed, Consultant in Public Health Medicine, NHS Greater Glasgow, said: "Wards routinely do not admit new patients as a precautionary measure when three or more patients display symptoms of diarrhoea and vomiting.

"The normal extra infection control precautions have been put in place including limiting staff movement between wards."

"We are continuing to working closely with the Hospitals' Infection Control Teams to monitor the situation."
