This morning (Wednesday 31 March 2004), North Glasgow Trust took the precautionary step of closing a ward to new admissions at Glasgow Royal Infirmary following a small outbreak of diarrhoea and vomiting.
Five patients and three members of staff are currently showing symptoms but are not giving cause for concern.
The 21-bedded ward currently has 15 patients.
Our infection control team is working closely with the ward and the situation is being constantly monitored.
