Strathkelvin Local Health Care Co operative (LHCC) Community Forum has launched a new directory of local health services and support groups.
The directory, entitled INFO 4 YOU, was commissioned by the Forum in response to requests from local patients and carers for useful and accessible information on local services and sources of support.
Richard Hassell, General Manager of Strathkelvin LHCC said: "Copies are available in local surgeries and clinics throughout the Strathkelvin area and I would encourage local people to look out for it at their next appointment.
He added: "Strathkelvin LHCC Community Forum aims to ensure the voices of local people are heard and encourages individuals and organisations to work together to the benefit of the local community. We would therefore welcome feedback and comments on the first directory as this will help us to update and improve future editions."
The directory was compiled for the Forum by Contact Point, the Kirkintilloch based charity that has provided an Information Service on disability, health and carer issues for over twenty years.
John Broadhead, Contact Point's representative in East Dunbartonshire, said: "Contact Point was delighted to be involved in this initiative and hope that local people find the directory a helpful source of information and advice. If, for whatever reason, you can't find the information you are looking for or you require additional information please get in touch in with Contact Point and we will try to source it for you."
