A spokeperson for North Glasgow Trust said: "North Glasgow Trust has learnt that a small number of cooks at Stobhill Hospital staged an unofficial walkout between 9.30am and 11.30am today.
"We were given very little notice of this unofficial action but, despite this, were able to take immediate action to ensure services to patients were not affected and mealtimes were not disrupted.
"All meals were prepared this morning as normal. Therefore during the two hours the cooks were absent, patient meals were being made ready by other staff to be delivered to wards at the normal time.
"We understand the concern at the root of this action is the implementation of the national Low Pay Agreement last year that resulted in cooks working in the NHS in Scotland being paid the same rate as catering assistants. The cooks at Stobhill Hospital believe they should be paid at a higher rate.
"We have been in talks with UNISON regarding the pay grading of cooks and the Trust yesterday received separately a pay claim for the staff involved.
"It is believed that none of our other hospitals have been affected by today's unofficial action at Stobhill.
"We are extremely disappointed by this unofficial action given that we had already agreed, with our trades union partners, to re-examine the role of our cooks."
